The Legacies of British Slavery (LBS) Database enables us to search for the enslaved-labour plantation estates across the Caribbean that are connected in some form to an individual or family living in or near the Wells area. The LBS estate entries include details such as the people associated with that estate, the number of enslaved people on the estate, and any associated claims for compensation for the emancipation of enslaved people under abolition.
